一本松は枯れて子孫へ Ipponn-matu tree died and next generation trees start to live

8月2022年NO.4　 　2011年３月に起こった東日本大震災から３年目の、2014年春、福島県南相馬市の鹿島の一本松の生きた姿を目にして絵に描きました。

その半年後から一本松は枯れだしました。原因は地面の中の塩害のようでした。地震と津波により地盤が沈み、地面を掘ると海水が溜まっていました。地元の「鹿島の一本松を守る会」の方々の努力と樹木医の施術による手当が続けられました。それでも地面下の海水は無くならず、その翌年には葉を落として枯れてしまいました。木の生き様を励みにしていた多くの方々の無念さは計り知れませんでした。

August 2022 NO.5 　When ３ years have passed since Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11th 2011, I visited Hukusima prefecture, and I found ipponn-matu The one pine tree that have survived

from Tsunami, and I drew pictures of the tree.

6 months after of my visiting of Hukushima, Ipponn-matu the pine tree began to wither and died.

It died by salty sea water under the ground. Many people sorrowed.

近いうちに、この松が枯れるかもしれないと感じていた「守る会」の方々が一本松の種を採取して種から松の苗を育て始めていました。私は１～２年に一度苗を育てている方を訪問して、子苗をスケッチしました。そして約２０本ほどの苗が50cmほどに育ちました。

One man of this area started to breed of ipponn-matu children, Onetime a year I visited to the man and drew the drawings.

枯れた木は風害により倒れる恐れがあるので、2018年５月地元の沢山の人たちが別れを告げにきて、伐採業者によって切られました。

May 2018 , Many people gathered to died ipponn-matu. they had a reception of thank you and good-by, After the reception The ipponn-matu tree was cut down.

その後切った材木は地元をはじめ多くの方の玄関用の表札に利用されました。（手前事ですが、私も表札をひとつ頂きました。）その後一本松のあった海岸に、「守る会」の方々や地元の人たちにより、あの種から育てられた一本松の子苗たちは親松のあったところに植えられました。沿岸一帯にはたくさんの木の苗が防風林として植樹されました。

The tree log were made to the door name plate of many houses in this area.

People planted trees along the sea shore.

And OF COURSE ! the ipponn-matu children were planted on the ground once The great ipponn-matu tree lived.
